❄️ Devlog #2: Winter Sprite & River Flow Fixes
Hey everyone!
This week I’ve been focusing on adding more seasonal character to Season Shift, starting with the Winter version of the player sprite. I spent a good chunk of time in Aseprite, sketching out cold-weather clothing, frost-toned palettes, and a cozy silhouette that still feels magical. I also used PixelLab (AI) to generate a few early design ideas. It helped speed up the concept phase and gave me a fresh perspective on how to give Winter a unique identity.
Here’s a preview of the Winter sprite in progress:

Alongside the character work, I also made improvements to the river tilesheet, specifically the way river tiles flow and animate across seasons. It’s subtle, but these details really help puzzles read more clearly, especially when dealing with frozen vs. active water states. I’ll be sharing the updated river tilesheet soon once I finish polishing the animations.
